RULES AND CONDITIONS FOR USE

ANIMALS: Here at The Barn at Lavender Hill, you will most likely see our resident pony, Oreo, our barn cats
Nancy and Beau, our senior dog, Chloe, and several chickens. For the safety of all, please don’t feed any of the animals or wander into the chicken coop or pony pastures.
CANDLES: The use of any type of flame is prohibited in all buildings and throughout the site. “Flameless candles” which is battery operated are permitted for use.
CATERING: The catering service areas are not intended to be used as a kitchen for meal preparation. Renters may select one of our approved caterers or ask to have your caterer approved by our staff. All Caterers/venders must provide a certificate of insurance at least 30 days prior to the event to enter the property.
CHILDREN AND GARDENS: Children under the age of 18 are your complete responsibility. Please know where your children are at all times and make certain that they clearly understand The Rules (They are not permitted in the horse pasture or in the horse portion of the barn).
We would greatly appreciate it if people did not disturb plants, rocks, trees or other natural gifts. Please do not nail anything to trees or hang any ropes, swings or hammocks from tree limbs. Please do not walk or step in flower beds or climb fences and on boulders.
CLEANING, TRASH, AND EQUIPMENT REMOVAL: Caterers and/or renter must remove all trash, compost,  recyclables and equipment 
from the site.
CONTACT PERSON: You must designate one individual as your Contact Person to communicate with our on-site coordinator should problems/concerns/questions arise.
COURTESY PROTOCOL: The Barn at Lavender Hill reserves the right to request any person or group of people acting unruly and contrary to rental regulations to leave the premises. 
DELIVERIES / DELIVERY TRUCKS: There is a size limit to the height and length of vehicles entering the premises to protect our trees. Please coordinate with us. We will need to know the delivery dates and times of any rentals, so we can meet them and show them where to drop their rentals.
ELECTRICAL OUTLETS: All electrical outlets on the property are available for use at an event.
DECORATIONS: No holes are allowed in our barn boards. There are hooks provided throughout the barn to affix decorations and/or signs. Decorations are prohibited on light fixtures, trees, and fencing. All decorations must be removed at the conclusion of your event without damaging the property.
No masking tape, duct tape, electrical tape, transparent tape or double stick tape is allowed. All other decoration must be freestanding. Nails and staples are not permitted at any location.
Note – The use of birdseed is permitted only outside for wedding and reception farewells. Rice, confetti, flower petals, balloons, glitter, fog machines, pyrotechnics, and blowing bubbles are not permitted inside or outside the facilities. Farewell sparklers may be permitted at the designated area on your contract.
EVENT ENDING TIME: The Barn at Lavender Hill closes promptly at 9pm and will be locked to comply with neighborhood and municipality ordinances. Plan to end your event early enough to clean up and be completely off the premises by 9pm.
GUESTS: Guests are expected to conduct themselves in a mature, responsible and respectful manner. We can easily accommodate up to 50 guests.
HANDICAP ACCOMMODTIONS: We provide level-designated parking along with suitable restroom facilities. Motorized and transport chairs can navigate the grounds. Be advised that our outdoor paths and parking areas are gravel.
LOGISTICAL PLANS: We can help you with special arrangements prior to your event. Just let us know what you need. 
LOST AND FOUND: The Barn at Lavender Hill takes no responsibility for personal effects and possessions left on premises during or after any event. We do, however, maintain a lost and found bin and will hold recovered items up to 10 days. Every attempt will be made to return any recovered item to its rightful owner.
MUSIC AND ENTERTAINMENT: Due to the proximity of The Barn at Lavender Hill to the local neighborhood, sound considerations are a concern. You may upload your music playlist to our barn speaker.

PARKING: Guest parking is available in the designated areas on the South side of the barn. Handicap accessible parking spaces are provided in the posted areas adjacent to the Barn. Parking is not permitted on the main street (DuVall Court) or on any access driveway to keep from blocking guest and emergency vehicles from entering/exiting. Caterer and vendor parking areas are also designated and marked with a sign. Overflow parking is about 1 mile away and will require a shuttle service to be scheduled in advance. If you know your event parking will overflow our lot, you will need to make arrangements to shuttle guests to and from the event. Contact us for assistance.
PETS: Sorry, absolutely no pets allowed. However, a family pet actually involved in the event is allowed. In the event your pet will be on the Premises, it must be always kept on a leash and have a designated handler. You are responsible for cleaning up.
PHOTOGRAPHY: Photos taken by Photographers/Guests - The Barn at Lavender Hill encourages Renter/Renter
vendors and Renter guests to take photos during the Event. Photos taken by Staff - The Barn at Lavender Hill staff may take photographs at the Event and The Barn at Lavender Hill reserves the right to use these photos for promotional purposes. It is understood by Renter, their guests and vendors, that attendance at an Event at The Barn at Lavender Hill includes permission to use their images in such materials.
REFRIGERATOR / FREEZER SPACE: A refrigerator/freezer is available and located in the Barn and Cottage. You are responsible to provide your own ice (there is not a commercial ice maker on site). Caterers are expected to make their own food/beverage accommodations. You may use the Cottage kitchen to prepare and store your food.
RENTAL SPACE CHANGES: Tables and chairs may be used in the Barn or outdoor Patio. It is the Renter’s responsibility to move all tables and chairs inside the barn at the end of your event arranged in their original set up.
SECURITY: A staff member and/or representative of The Barn at Lavender Hill will be on site and/or on-call for all events.
SIGNAGE: You may place a free-standing tent-type sign at the entrance to the property. Nothing may be attached to our entrance sign, or attached to the trees.
SMOKING: The Barn at Lavender Hill is strictly a non-smoking and drug-free facility and grounds. No Exceptions. The pony stables are part of our venue and contain hay, pine shavings and straw; all highly combustible materials to fire and sparks. 
SPEED LIMIT: The speed limit on The Barn at Lavender Hill premises is 5 mph and is strictly enforced for the safety of your guests and our furry friends.
TABLES AND CHAIRS: The Barn at Lavender Hill provides tables and chairs as part of our rental package, unless
noted otherwise. The 8-foot farm tables (seats 8).

TOILETS: There is one restroom in the Barn and one restroom in the Cottage.

WEATHER: The weather is usually suitable for outside events from May 15 until October 15. Should there be inclement weather on your reserved day, the Barn is ideal for an indoor event. 
WEDDING REHEARSAL: We love combined events! Reserve your rehearsal dinner when you book your wedding.
